DOROTHY O. MCDONOUGH

Dorothy O. McDonough, 96, of Elkhorn died on Aug. 23, 2012 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. She was born May 7, 1916 in Elkhorn to the late George and Hilma (Peterson) Doebert. She married Stewart McDonough March 24, 1938 and he preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1986. She was a homemaker and a life long member of Sugar Creek Lutheran Church in Elkhorn, where she was an 83-year member of the church choir. She was a volunteer at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center giving more than 11 thousand hours of her time to the community. She delivered Meals on Wheels in the area until retiring at the age of 95.

She is survived by daughter Jayne (George) Mann of Muskego; son James (Jean) of Blue Springs, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Judy of Burlington; grandchildren, Scott, Jeff, Darin and Courtney. Chris Mann and Megan (Scott) Ottow and great-grandchild, Allison. Son, Wally; sister, Violet and brother-in-law, Harold Loomer, further precede her in death.

Funeral services were Aug. 28 at Sugar Creek Lutheran Church where the Rev Gerald Petersen officiated. Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. to service time at the church. Burial was at the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sugar Creek Lutheran Church. Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan assisted the family.
