Getting benched

Phillip Koss, Walworth County’s District Attorney for more than two decades, recently took on a new role as one of the county’s four circuit judges. At his Aug. 1 investiture, judge John R. Race swore in Koss. Attorney Brian Schuk, Wisconsin Bar Association president, presented the new judge’s robe after officials celebrated Koss’ years as DA, complete with humor at his expense. Walworth County Deputy District Attorney Joshua P. Grube joked that Koss had been trying on robes for weeks to prepare for the bench, claiming his boss even asked him if the robe made his butt look big.
