“We had some really great swims at the this meet. Olimpia Soto rocked both her races going four seconds faster in the 200 Freestyle to win her heat. She also went two and a half seconds faster in the 100 Freestyle to win her heat,” head coach Gina Foucault said.

Soto wasn’t the only swimmer the coach talked about.

“Teammate Cristina Rodriguez broke 30 seconds in the 50 Freestyle going 29:33, a long time goal of hers in her final race of the season. Yvanna Strait did a great job coming in last minute to swim the 100 Breaststroke and Sarah Schiltz also swam well when added last minute into the 200 IM. Sara Foucault had an interesting meet taking 2nd in the 100 Butterfly that her entire heat had to re-swim because of a lane malfunction. She ended up bettering her time and broke her own school record in the event with a 1:01.55,” Foucault said.

“Callie Hebert won her third Breaststroke title in a very close race. Callie Hebert and Sydney Zimdars both dug deep to swim two relays and an individual event after becoming injured and sick this past week,” she added.

Posting Top 10 times this past week were Sara Foucault in the 100 Butterfly and Sydney Hackney in the 100 Backstroke.

The Sectional meet will take place Saturday, Nov. 9 at 12:30 p.m. at UW-Whitewater.

“This is the qualifying meet for state. Swimmers qualify by winning their event at Sectionals along with the next 12 fastest times in the whole state. Come cheer on the Whippet swimmers as they give it their all,” Foucault said.
