WHS volleyball team’s season comes to end

The Whippet volleyball team lost to Delavan-Darien High School in three sets last Tuesday night bringing their season to an end.

“It is always hard to say goodbye to seniors who have given so much to our program. We wish we could have extended the season with a win, but that unfortunately wasn’t in the cards tonight. We battled through a lot of adversity this season with injuries, and position switches,” head coach Liz Miller said after the loss.

“We look forward to working hard in the off-season and all that next season will bring. We wish our seniors the best of luck in their future endeavors,” she added.

Statistical leaders in the match against Delavan-Darien included: Brooke Trewyn, Kailey Reynolds, Lindsay Chase and Myriama Smith-Traore with three kills each; Sarah Schumacher with three blocks; Trewyn and Chase with six digs each; Reynolds with three service aces, and; Trewyn with six assists.
