Berryman leads wrestlers

Travis Berryman finished 3-1 at 120 pounds and placed third overall to lead the Big Foot-Williams Bay wrestlers at Saturday’s Monroe Invitational.

Berryman beat Monroe’s David Andrews 6-4 in the third-place matchup.

Big Foot’s other win came at 132 pounds, as Titus Frederick was 1-3 overall. Christian Flores (145), Malachi Frederick (182) and Nick Freymiller (285) each were 0-2.

Monroe won the team title with 190 points, followed by Prairie du Chien with 181.5 and Darlington/Blackhawk with 162.5. Big Foot was 12th with 22 points.

Earlier in the week, the Chiefs fell 74-0 at Beloit Turner.

Dropping matches to the Trojans were Titus Frederick (138), by pin in 3:19 to Ste ‘fan Golden; Flores (145), by pin in 22 seconds to Anthony Bivens; Ethan Roland (170), by pin in 1:29 to Dylan Williamson; Malachi Frederick (182), by technical fall 22-7 to Kolten Berger; and Freymiller (285), by pin in 1:03 to Tyler Burt.

The Chiefs also gave up forfeits at 126, 132, 152, 160, 195, 220 and 106 pounds.
