Track takes fourth and sixth at invite at Brodhead

The Big Foot girls track team finished fourth, while the boys were sixth at the annual Jim Church Invitational at Brodhead.

Brooke Wellhausen led the Big Foot girls with two first-place finishes, as she won the 400 (59.4) and the triple jump (33-6).

Also winning events were the 1,600- and 3,200-relay teams of Gloria Esarco, Grace Gillingham, Alexandria Demco and Wellhausen in 4:11 and 9:52.8, respectively.

On the boys’ side, Jackson Enz was first in the 300-hurdles (41.1) and the 200 (16.0). The 800-relay team of Enz, Kasey Woodside, Mike Petkoff and Connor Kirk also was first (1:36.1).

Brodhead won the girls’ team title with 129 points, followed by Elkhorn with 118, McFarland with 116 and Big Foot with 81.

McFarland was first among the boys with 151 points, followed by Brodhead with 104 and Elkhorn with 95. The Chiefs were sixth with 68.
