Soccer falls to East Troy in final regular season game

The Big Foot-Williams Bay girls soccer team dropped a 4-2 Rock Valley Conference decision May 28 to visiting East Troy to close the regular season at 13-6 overall and 11-5 in the RVC.

McFarland won the outright RVC title at 14-1-1, followed by Whitewater a 13-2-1, Big Foot and East Troy at 11-5 and Evansville at 10-6. Rounding out the standings were Jefferson at 5-1, Palmyra-Eagle at 4-11, Clinton at 1-14 and Edgerton at 1-15.

Big Foot drew the No. 4 seed in the regional and hosted Evansville Thursday night. The winner advanced to face either No. 1 Belleville-New Glarus or No. 8 Edgerton Saturday, June 6.

Scoring goals for the Chiefs against East Troy were Rachel Heidenreich at the 14-minute mark and Morgan Grunow at the 53-minute mark. Grunow and Morgan Courier each had an assist, while goalie Enna Peterson had 10 saves.

Grunow’s goal tied the game at 2-2, before East Troy tallied a pair of answered goals for the win.
