The final team results from last week’s Rock Valley Conference Meet turned out about as expected for the young Big Foot boys and girls track squads.

But there were some big highlights individually for the Chiefs to build from.

Freshman Jackson Enz and sophomore Brooke Wellhausen each brought home RVC titles to lead the Big Foot effort.

Enz finished first in the 300-hurdles in 41.56, while Wellhausen won the conference title in the 400 with a time of 59.08.

Enz also was third in the 110-hurdles (16.26), while Wellhausen placed third in the triple jump (33-7) and fourth in the long jump (15-7).

The Chiefs’ other conference title came from the girls 1,600-meter relay team that finished in 4:10. Members of that foursome were not listed in the final results.

Other top-10 efforts for the Big Foot boys were turned in by Connor Kirk, second in the 100 (11.57) and seventh in the 200 (23.7); David Martin, seventh in the 110-hurdles (17.1) and ninth in the 300-hurdles (45.83); Bernie Lerchegger, 10th in the 400 (56.4) and the 1,600 (4:59.2); and the 1,600-meter relay team, seventh (3:43.54).

Also placing in the top 10 for the girls were the 800-meter relay team, second (1:51.87); Gloria Escarco, fifth in the 800 (2:25.96); Mari Hubanks, sixth in the long jump (14-8 1/2); Flor Ramirez, eighth in the 100-hurdles (18.9); and the 400-meter relay team, eighth (54.88).
