Through three innings Tuesday afternoon, the Big Foot High School baseball team had visiting East Troy right where it wanted.

But then the Trojans turned the tables – and before the Chiefs knew it, their chance to get back to .500 in the Rock Valley Conference had vanished.

East Troy turned a 3-2 deficit into a 9-3 lead in the fourth inning, and then added six more unanswered runs in a 15-3 victory. The loss dropped Big Foot to 2-4 in the RVC and 2-6 overall.

The Chiefs trailed 2-0 after the first inning, but pushed single runs across the plate in three straight at bats to take the 3-2 lead before the Trojans’ offensive uprising.

Alex Landers led Big Foot with two hits and two runs scored, followed by Jack Senft with two hits and Connor McCarthy, Brandon Hausner, Dan Rabic, Brendan Kelley and Mark Schauf with one hit apiece.

Hausner took the loss, as he worked four innings, and allowed nine earned runs, five walks and struck out six. Kelley pitched the final three innings, and allowed six hits, five earned runs, six walks and struck out two.

Big Foot held a 5-3 lead into the seventh inning Saturday, but visiting Harvard (Ill.) exploded for an eight-run seventh en route to an 11-6 non-conference win.

Senft had two hits, a run scored and an RBI, followed by Chandler Hehr with two hits, Landers with two hits and two runs scored, Zak Greco with two hits and an RBI and Rodney Flom with an RBI.

Schauf, McCarthy and Senft combined to allow 11 earned runs, seven walks and struck out six.

The Chiefs opened the week with a 13-6 RVC win April 16 at Clinton. Big Foot used a six-run fifth inning to put the game out of reach.

Landers led the hit parade with three, including a homer and a double, five runs scored and three RBI. Greco added two hits and an RBI, while Hausner had a hit and three RBI.

Hausner earned the complete-game win, as he allowed five hits, four earned runs, four walks and struck out eight.

The Chiefs were back in action Thursday afternoon at Edgerton and travel to Badger Saturday for a 2 p.m. non-conference contest.
