Girls take down Beloit, 67-59

A strong first half was all the Big Foot girls basketball team needed Dec. 19 in a 67-59 Rock Valley Conference win over host Beloit Turner.

Big Foot led 18-12 after the first quarter and 41-31 at halftime. Turner rallied in the second half, but could only cut two points off the deficit, as the Chiefs grabbed the road win.

Morgan Courier led the way with 17 points, four steals and nine assists, followed by Courtney Schoenbeck with 13 points and nine rebounds. Schoenbeck made three 3-pointers in the contest.

Other statistical leaders were Payton Courier with 13 points and six rebounds, Kathryn Colby with 10 points and Olivia Briggs with five rebounds.

Big Foot travels to the Lake Mills Tournament next Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 29 and 30.
