A back-to-back Rock Valley Conference series with Edgerton last week didn’t turn out quite as the East Troy High School baseball team hoped, as the Trojans fell twice to the Tide.

Edgerton out-slugged the Trojans 11-9 last Tuesday afternoon, and then won a tight duel 4-2 two days later.

Connor Mitchell led the way in the opener with two hits, two runs scored and four RBI, followed by Jacob Schultz with two hits and a run scored and Jason Dopke with a triple and three RBI.

Will Iloncaie added a hit, a run scored and an RBI, while Nick Bertschinger added a hit and two runs scored.

In the rematch last Thursday, Ryan Olsen had a hit and an RBI for the Trojans, while Nick Ruffalo had a hit and a run scored, Dopke and Joe Ciriacks a hit apiece and Iloncaie a run scored.

Dopke took the loss, as he allowed two earned runs in three innings on the mound.

East Troy traveled to Big Foot Tuesday afternoon and hosted Clinton Thursday. The Trojans continue their week Friday with a non-conference contest at New Lisbon, followed by a home RVC matchup next Monday against visiting Brodhead.
