Gymnasts hang on

The Elkhorn Area High School gymnastics team defeated Jefferson 114.825-106.657 Jan. 6 in a Southern Lakes Conference meet at home.

The Elks finished second through fifth in the all-around. Freshman Cameron Jacobson led Elkhorn with score of 29.40.

Amy Kolacke finished second (28.875), Madison Neinfeldt third (27.875) and Ronica Fuller fifth (25.925).

Jefferson’s Kayla Miller won the all-around (29.75).

Fuller won the floor exercise (7.85). Kolacke finished second (7.450) and Jacobson third (7.4).

Megan Jacobson won on the uneven bars (7.25). Cameron Jacobson finished second (6.6) and Kolacke fourth (6.35).

Kolacke and Miller tied for first in the vault (8.4). Cameron Jacobson finished third (7.9).

Cameron Jacobson finished second on the balance beam (7.5). Neinfeldt finished third (6.975) and Kolacke fourth (6.675). Miller won the event (7.675).

The Elks’ next meet is Jan. 19 at home against SLC opponent Waterford.
