The Elkhorn Area High School boys swimming team doubled its fun Dec. 16 at home in a Southern Lakes Conference triangular against Platteville/Lancaster and Delavan-Darien.

The Elks defeated Platteville Lancaster 95-76 and Delavan-Darien 120-50 and for their SLC dual meet victories of the season. Elkhorn is now 2-1 in SLC duals.

“I think they were happy with the wins,” Elks coach Jamie Richardson said. “Two wins is great. Sometimes it’s hard, especially when you have to double-dual. We did really well against both teams. I was happy with that.”

William Pyle won three events and Kyle Gorst two for the Elks. Pyle won the 100-meter freestyle in 1 minute, 3.19 seconds and the 50 freestyle in 27.27 seconds.

“He’s already faster than he was last year at the end of the season,” Richardson said. “His sprinting has really improved. It’s fun to watch him develop into this great sprinter for us.”

Gorst won the 200 freestyle (2:14.89) and swam with Pyle, Eli Burtard and Jacob Truesdale on the Elks’ first-place 400 freestyle relay (4:13.89).

Richardson said Gorst posted a personal best time in his anchor leg in the 400 freestyle relay, one of 41 personal bests set by the Elks in the triangular.

Kalib Gorecki won the 100 breaststroke (1:17.95). Burtard won the 400 freestyle (5:02.92). Logan Radlein won the 200 individual medley (2:38.69).

Gorst, Brenden Finley, Brett Schmieden and Burtard finished second in the 200 medley relay (2:05.91). Burtard finished second in the 200 freestyle (2:23.12).

Finley, Radlein, Schmieden and Pyle finished second in the 200 freestyle relay (1:53.68). Gorst finished second in the 100 backstroke (1:10.04). Finley finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:17.95).

The Elks’ junior varsity also won two meets. The Elks JV beat Platteville/Lancaster 114-29 and Delavan-Darien 121-23.

The Elks’ next meet is a SLC dual meet Jan. 6 at Whitewater High School.
