Wrestlers win three

The East Troy wrestling squad spent part of its break at the two-day Northern Exposure Tournament at Merrill and returned with a 3-4 overall record.

In bracket play, East Troy beat Marquette 41-35, but dropped dual decisions to Beaver Dam 42-32, to Green Bay Preble 45-29, to Sauk Prairie 63-16 and to Menomonie 39-36.

East Troy picked up two victories following those five duals, as it beat Edgar 45-30 and Rice Lake 42-39.

Tommy Larson (106) finished the trip at 7-0, while Chase Coleman (152) was 6-1. John Veselka (138), Kelcye DeMara (170) and Chris Storandt (220) each were 4-3, while Calvin Collins (113) was 4-0 and Kaleb Curler (126) was 3-0.

Sauk Prairie won the 18-team tournament title, followed by Mineral Point, Menomonee Falls, New Berlin West-Eisenhower, Port Washington and Beaver Dam.

East Troy compete Saturday at the Burlington Invitational.
