Girls volleyball team dominates in conference

The East Troy High School girls volleyball team continues to have a stranglehold on the Rock Valley Conference’s North Division.

East Troy rolled to a pair of 3-0 wins last week to improve to 16-5-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play. The Trojans hosted Evansville Monday night, but results were unavailable by press time.

The Trojans opened play with a 25-19, 25-9, 25-20 win over Jefferson, followed by a 25-11, 25-10, 25-11 win over Whitewater two nights later.

Leading the way in the win over Jefferson were M.E. Dodge with 23 kills and 10 digs, followed by Katrina Santos with 11 kills; Carly Atchison with five aces and 11 digs; Katie Hodges with 15 digs; Chloe Jakscht with 24 assists; and Jenna Hodges with 10 assists.

Dodge also led the way against Whitewater with 24 kills, eight aces, two blocks and six digs. Other leaders were Santos with eight kills; Atchison with five aces and 11 digs; Jakscht with 24 assists; and Jenna and Katie Hodges with eight assists and eight digs, respectively.

Following Monday’s game with Evansville, the Trojans will travel to the always highly competitive Joust Invitational at West Bend this weekend. Several of the state’s top-ranked teams in all divisions are scheduled to compete.
