Softball, baseball teams lose

Both the Delavan-Darien High School softball and baseball teams suffered their first Southern Lakes Conference losses last week.

Micah Heath took the loss in baseball, pitching five innings and giving up eight hits while striking out seven and walking two.

Heath led the Comets offensively, going 2-for-4.

The Comets had only three other hits in the game, with Isiah and Isaac Ramos each getting a hit along with Sam Seitz.

In softball, the Comets recorded only one hit in the game – a single by Cindy Crawford.

Jennah Speth took the loss, striking out six and walking one.

The Comet softball team hosts Lake Geneva Badger tonight at 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, the girls will participate in a four-team invite and Monday will host Big Foot at 4:30 p.m. in non-conference action.

Next Tuesday the team travels to Waterford for a 4:30 p.m. game.

The Comet baseball team hosts Clinton tonight at 4:30 p.m. and will travel to Union Grove on Tuesday for a 4:30 p.m. game.

On Wednesday, both the softball and baseball team will be in action at Miller Park in Milwaukee. The softball team will play at Helfaer Field, located at Miller Park while the baseball team will take the field at Miller Park.                   Softball gets under way at 10:30 a.m., and baseball is set for 2 p.m. Admission to both games is free of charge.
