LETTER: Schroeder a better choice for the 31st

The following quote appears on the Project Vote Smart website, “Amy Loudenbeck refused to tell citizens where she stands on any of the issues addressed in the 2012 Political Courage Test, despite repeated requests…”

On AARP’s 2012 Voter Guide: “Amy chose not to respond to AARP’s Voter Guide.” Amy refuses to let me know her positions on issues.

Amy signed the Republicans’ secret agreement concerning the redistricting maps. Republicans hired Michael Best & Friedrich law firm to do this unfair redistricting. It is estimated that taxpayers of Wisconsin paid more than $1.5 million to draw, defend and pay a group that successfully sued over these maps.

What does the legislature get paid for? It was their job to do this redistricting in an open and transparent manner. We, the citizens, had every right to know what was going on… When the Democrats took control of the Senate, they were able to request these secret documents.

The Best law firm has refused to hand over some of the records relating to this fiasco even when ordered by a court.

Amy belongs to the American Legislative Exchange Commission. This group has been exposed as pushing the same corporate legislation in all Republican-controlled states. Many corporations have dropped their membership due to this exposure.

Amy was willing to let Cline Mines extort the state’s resources of fresh water and iron ore. She ignored the Bad River Treaty Rights.

Please vote for Ryan Schroeder to represent the 31st Assembly District.

Jane Roberts,

Delavan
