Mary Ann Zelenski

Mary Ann Zelenski, 87, of East Troy, passed away April 20, 2023, at The Bay in Burlington. She was born Sept. 13, 1935, in Burlington, to the late Oliver and Julia (nee Marciniak) Mitchell.

She lived her final years under the affliction of dementia.

She spent most of her early life in East Troy on the family farm.

She married Bob Zelenski Oct. 20, 1956, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in East Troy. Following their marriage they took over primary operation of the Mitchell family farm, and while raising their five children, turned it into the Zelenski farm.

Mary Ann was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, including the Ladies Sodality. She was an avid gardener who nurtured and loved many varieties of flowers.          Mary Ann was known for sharing her well-developed talents for baking, especially her decadent desserts and holiday treats. She enjoyed the camaraderie and shenanigans of good friends in two sheepshead (schafskopf) social card clubs over many decades.

Survivors include her husband; children, Julie Allen of Memphis Tennessee, Steve (Jane) of East Troy, Tim (Lori Muzatko) of East Troy, Shirley of San Rafael, California, and Kelly Garrison (Damian) of Knightstown, Indiana; grandchildren, Marcus (Jessica), Tom (Kelly) and Beth (fiancee Aaron Sirovina); and great-grandchildren, Sophia, Alex, Charlie, Hudson, Evie, Cora, Luke Zelenski and Tyler Pulchinski. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Richard Zelenski; sister-in-law, Phyllis J. Zelenski; and numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Mary Ann was further preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed (Julia), Bob (Bernice) and Len (Pat) Mitchell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Olive (Lewis) Larsen, Dorothy (Joe) Zivkovich and Marge (Herb) Koenen,; sister-in-law Betty, (Bill) Weis; and brothers-in-law, Joe Zelenski and Mike Zelenski (Phyllis F.).

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 1981 Beulah Avenue, East Troy. Fr. Jordan Berghouse will officiate. Visitation be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Woman’s Club of East Troy, the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association (Wisconsin Chapter).
