RICHARD COOPER

      Richard S. Cooper, 67, was born May 23, 1955, in Elkhorn to Donald R. and Betty L. (Deck) Cooper.

He passed away on April 27, 2023, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn.

Rick grew up in Delavan and graduated from Delavan-Darien High School in 1973. He was a machinist by trade and worked for 41 years at Sta-Rite Industries/Pentair Water in Delavan. He retired in June 2018.

Rick spent many years as a volunteer fireman for the City of Delavan and then the Village of Fontana. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, bowling and camping. He enjoyed watching sports, particularly the Packers and Brewers.

He especially enjoyed watching his grandson, Kasen, play youth baseball, football and basketball. Kasen was his “little buddy” and he cherished the time they spent together.

Rick is survived by his wife, Kathy, whom he married on Aug. 4, 1984, in Fontana; daughter, Lauren Cooper; grandson, Kasen Todd; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Betty Cooper; daughter, Kaitlin; son, Kyle; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Paul Simmons; and parents-in-law, Henry and Joan Van Diggelen.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 6, at Toynton’s Walworth Funeral Home, 328 Kenosha St., Walworth, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon. Burial will be private.
