JEFFREY BLISS

      Jeffrey S. Bliss, 46, passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2022, at his home in Kenosha.

Born on April 18, 1975, in Elkhorn he was the son of Kenneth and Sandra (Coty) Bliss. He grew up attending local schools, was a graduate of Delavan-Darien High School, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from U.W. Platteville.

On April 13, 2002, he was united in marriage to Monica Sturgeon in Racine.

His extensive career in law enforcement began on Sept. 29, 1998. He began as a deputy, then spent 13 years as a general assignment detective, was a member of the Fire Task Force, was a 21-year member of the department of Tactical Response Team (T.R.T.) – serving as the lead trainer and team leader, was an 18-year member of the department’s Honor Guard, a 15-year member of the department’s Hazardous Device Squad (H.D.S.) having recently retired from being a Certified Bomb Technician, and Tactical Bomb Technician, and a three-year active member of the department’s Drone Unit.

Jeff enjoyed running, watching movies, watching his son compete in sports, cars, and working with his hands building and fixing things.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Monica; his son, Noah Bliss; his father, Kenneth; his siblings, Abby (Mike) Travis and Scott (Kristi) Bliss; his nephews, Cody, Logan, George, Joseph; his niece, Jaden.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra.

Memorial services honoring Jeffrey’s life was Tuesday, April 19 at Carthage College – A.F. Seibert Chapel with full police honors.
