RODNEY LUESSENHOP

      Rodney Marlin Luessenhop, 90, passed away April 6, 2021.

He was born Sept. 6, 1930, in Illinois, to William and Sadie (Riegel) Luessenhop. Rodney was united in marriage to Connie Judd on Feb. 23, 1952.

Rodney is survived by his two daughters, Kathryn (Lee) Schwartz of Darien and Karen (Michael) DePellegrin of Acme, Pennsylvania; grandsons, Andy (Amy) Schwartz of Darien and Evan (Melanie) Estright of Connellsville, Pennsylvania; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Jaelyn, Owen, Westin and Kinsley; and great-great-granddaughter, Kyleigh.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie; son, Jim; brother, Robert; and sister, Gladys.

Rodney moved to his farm in Darien in 1957. He retired from Dean Foods in Chemung, Illinois in 1996. He was a member of Darien Methodist Church, the Delavan/Darien Kiwanis and the Harvard Moose Lodge.

He enjoyed watching sports, especially his favorite teams – the Chicago Bears and the Chicago White Sox. He also enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at the West Wind Diner and the Delavan McDonald’s. He will be remembered for his jokes, riding his bicycle and moped and his kindness and generosity. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family.

Private burial was held at the Darien Cemetery. Betzer-Lazarczyk Family Funeral Home of Delavan is serving the family.
