DAVID WAYNE STUVER

      David Wayne Stuver, 75, a Janesville resident for the past 20 years and originally from the Delavan-Darien area, passed away June 11, 2018, after suffering an acute illness.

Dave was born May 30, 1943, in Elkhorn, to William and Marguerite (Sawyer) Stuver-McKinney.

He grew up in Darien and attended Delavan-Darien High School, class of 1961. David served in the Navy from 1960 to 1964, traveling all over the Mediterranean and earning his GED while in the service. After returning from the Navy, Dave drove a dump truck at Thorpe and Madison. He then went to work for the Delavan township road crew. Lastly, he worked at Sta-Rite, retiring after 38 years.

Dave had a passion for his sports and cars. He loved to drive all over the countryside, stopping to visit along the way. He very much enjoyed spending his winters in Texas with friends. He also loved his family and is survived by his daughters, Lori (Tim) Klade, Lana (Victor) Castro, and Lisa (Manuel Gonzalez) Stuver; his seven grandchildren, Timothy, Joshua, Kristin, Ben, Jeremiah, Gabriela and Nico; six great grandchildren; and his niece and nephew. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lance; a sister, Carol Wepking; a brother, Larry; two cousins, Richard and Robert Sawyer; and his stepfather, Robert McKinney.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave. in Delavan, with a luncheon at Greenies following the service.

Dave’s family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to MercyHealth Hospital, LifeCare, Golden Years and St. Croix Hospice.
