LOIS E. CUTTS

Lois E. Cutts, of Delavan and Walworth, passed away March 24, 2018, under the care of Rainbow Hospice at Vintage on the Ponds in Delavan.

She was born July 10, 1926, on the Big Foot Prairie to Ferdinand William and Anna Mable (Kennedy) Dahle.

Lois attended and graduated from Big Foot Grade School and Harvard High School class of 1943. She married Kenneth H. Cutts in 1946, farmed on State Line Road from then until 1976 and raised seven children. During that time, she also taught Sunday School at First Presbyterian Church in Harvard, Ill., where she was a member since 1941. She was also a 4H leader for six years and a room mother at Walworth Grade School for multiple decades. She later moved to Walworth, and resided there for 20 years, driving a school bus during some of those years. She also worked at the Kozy Nook in Harvard, Ill., and the Pontiac Diner in Walworth. In 2001, she moved to the Westshire Retirement Community. Lois and her husband, Ken, enjoyed traveling across the country, but most loved Wisconsin where she loved playing cards, reading, baking and dancing. She was a member of the Lois Club, Chicken Club and Euchre Club as well as a 50-plus-year member of the Women of the Moose.

Lois survived by her seven children, Kathleen (Allan) Alaspa, James (Cindy) Cutts, Janice (Steven) Gordon, Steven (Sherri) Cutts, Jane (Ken) Phelan, Gina Smith and Andrew Cutts; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth Cutts; her parents; three sisters, Isabelle Schwabe, Helen Madaus and Maybelle Cunningham; and three brothers, Ferdinand Dahle, Albert Dahle and Clarence Dahle.

A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Toynton’s Walworth Funeral Home, 328 Kenosha St., Walworth. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church of Harvard, 7100 Harvard Hills Rd, Harvard, Ill.

Burial will follow at McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock, Ill.
