DAVID E. LEITZKE

      David Earl Leitzke, 80, of Delavan, died July 10, 2017, at Geneva Lake Manor in Lake Geneva.

He was born in Oconomowoc on Jan. 10, 1937, to Earl and Dorothy (Behrens) Leitzke. He graduated from Delavan High School in 1955 and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955 to 1958. He married Wallie Reimer at Lutherdale Bible Camp in Elkhorn on Aug. 11, 1962 – 55 years ago this August. David retired from Sta-Rite in 1999 after 40 years. He was a member of Luther Memorial Church and a charter member of the Walworth County Marine Corps League. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wallie; a daughter, Penni (Brian Hoppe) Logterman, of Janesville; two sons, Craig Leitzke, and Brian (Kathleen) Leitzke, both of Delavan; grandchildren, Heidi and Derek Logterman, Alex Hoppe, Kirsten Leitzke, Travis Leitzke, Alex (Emily) Leitzke, and Anna and Andrew Leitzke; great-grandchildren, Nora and Valerie Leitzke; brother, James (Judi) Leitzke, of Zephyrhills, Fla., sister-in-law, Susan Leitzke, of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, John and Thomas, both of whom passed away within the past year.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Luther Memorial Church, 910 E. Geneva St., Delavan. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave. and an hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
