ROSEMARY GODFREY

Rosemary “Pat” Cartier Godfrey, 89, of Oak Park, formerly of Homewood, Ill., and Whitewater, died July 7, 2017, at her home in Oak Park, Ill.

She was the beloved wife of the late Richard L. Godfrey; loving mother of Richard C. (Alice) Godfrey; cherished grandmother of John C. (Orly) Godfrey of New York City and Polly W. Godfrey, M.D., of Minneapolis; dear sister of the late Margaret (the late Jack) Derthick and Betty Jane Cartier; fond Aunt of Peter (Cindy) Godfrey, Ann McLaughlin O’Connor, and many other nieces and nephews, including being a great Aunt to Megan Godfrey and Andrew (Samantha) Godfrey.

Rosemary graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and taught for 38 years in the public schools, principally 1st and 2nd grade in Chicago’s south suburbs.

Visitation will be July 15, at 1:15 p.m. until the time of service starting at 2 p.m., at Drechsler, Brown and Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park. Private interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Whitewater. In lieu of flowers, donations to: Driftless Area Land Conservancy, 206 S. Iowa Street, Dodgeville, Wisconsin 53533 are appreciated.
