NANCY M. RIMA

Nancy M. (Gordon) Rima, 84, of Delavan, passed away at home July 8, 2017, in the presence of her loving daughter, Penny.

She was born in Elroy Nov. 29, 1932, to Raymond and Catherine Gordon. Nancy was the second oldest of seven children.

Nancy was married Dec. 26, 1949, to William A. Rima Sr. in New Lisbon. He preceded her in death in 1989.

She was employed by the Delavan-Darien School District, Millie’s Pancake Haus, and Tri-Tec Corp. in Darien. Nancy finished out her career as a nanny, working well into her 70s. She was known for her strong work ethic, always performing at a level of excellence.

Nancy enjoyed her family enormously. She will be remembered for playing “boogie-woogie” and gospel music on the piano, which she played by ear. Every Friday night for years, she could be found dancing at the Moose Club with her husband. Nancy’s faith was very important to her, and she demonstrated it through her many acts of kindness to her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Penny (Gary) Peters, of Cincinnati, Ohio, William (Sandra) Rima Jr., of Elkhorn, Robin (Ken) Earle, of Whitewater; daughter-in-law, Mary Rima, of Elkhorn; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy Adella Gibbons, Jennie Mae Durrua, Marlene Rawhouser and Sandra Hess; and one brother, John Gordon. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Rima Sr.; a son, Randolph Rima; a daughter, Claudine Horick; and a sister, Meryl Morgan.

Per Nancy’s request, a family celebration of life service will take place at a future date in New Lisbon. The Monroe Funeral Home, Delavan, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association in honor of Nancy.

The family would like to thank Dr. Clifford Poplar, Holton Manor staff, and Aurora Hospice team for their loving care of Nancy.
