NANCY ARLENE WHITE

Nancy Arlene White, 94, passed away peacefully June 2, 2017, surrounded by family.

She was born to James and Ann Fay (Coomer) Dugan Feb. 8, 1923, in Bloomington, Ill. She married Richard C. White Jan. 17, 1942, in Chicago. They eventually settled in Elkhorn. They were married for 62 years before Richard’s death in 2004. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, playing bingo with her friends at Girlie’s Manor and following current events. Nancy was a gentle lady who always said please and never forgot her thank yous. She was a loving mother and grandmother and we will miss her greatly.

She is survived by her daughter, Colleen Gurrie; grandchildren, Sally (Ken) Cobb and TJ (Susan) Gurrie; great-grandchildren, Jenna (Jared) Leonhardt, Kelsey and Sam Cobb, and; great-great-granddaughters, Ava and Addie Leonhardt. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother James Duggan, and son-in-law, Terry Gurrie.

A special thank you to Doug, the staff and residents of Girlie’s Manor in Cross Plains. They became her second family. Their love and care made her last year’s happy ones. Also, thank you to Agrace HospiceCare for the wonderful care they gave her in her final days and to Dr. Daniel Jarzemsky. Per Nancy’s wishes, there will be no service. Memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare in Nancy’s name if you so wish.
