Karen Lou Grenzow, 62, of Sumas, Wash., passed away unexpectedly Feb. 12, 2017.
Karen was born Aug. 2, 1954, in Elkhorn, and graduated from Elkhorn High School. She married Robert Grenzow on June 8, 1974, at Sugar Creek Lutheran Church near Troy. On Sept. 2, 1976, their daughter Amanda was born.
Karen found inspiration through the Colorado Outward Bound School. Blacksmithing, metal art working and sea kayaking gave her great joy. Her favorite place was Lake Ann near Mt. Shuksan in Washington.
In addition to her husband of 42 years, Robert, Karen is survived by her daughter, Amanda; mother, Barbara Nielsen; sister, Susan Kelman; and Gypsie Rose, a border collie.
