ANETTA O. DANZ

Anetta O. (Walser) Danz, 95, died Feb 2, 2017.

She was born June 22, 1921, in the Town of Berry, grew up near Marxville on a dairy farm with four brothers, lived through the Great Depression, married local man Harland Danz in 1942, and traveled with him throughout the United States during his early Army years. When World War II was declared and Harland went to Europe, she worked to support the cause. After Victory in Europe Day, they settled in Middleton and raised two sons. Ann worked as a supper club waitress, then was hired by Herb Kohl as a deli manager in one of his first stores.

They spent many years in Middleton, and, after retirement, lived in Fitchburg, then moved to Delavan to be closer to immediate family. She was always called Aunt Netty, Ann or Anetta. She spent many years sacrificing to help Harland with health issues. She loved spending time with her family, especially watching the youngsters as they grew and developed, often taking expeditions along with them throughout the United States. She had quite a few adopted family members and always loved each family member equally. She was always close to her siblings and in-laws and attended as many family get-togethers as she could manage. Many relatives lived in the Marxville, Black Earth and Mazomanie areas and southeastern Wisconsin.

Anetta was preceded in death by her husband, Harland, four brothers, nine sisters- and brothers-in-law and two great-grandsons. She is survived by sons, Dennis and David, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

No funeral will take place at this time. A memorial celebration of life will be forthcoming in the summer or fall. A separate announcement will be issued in advance of that event.

Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan is assisting the family.
