NATHALIE KEELER

Nathalie “Nat” Keeler died Feb. 1, 2017, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 23, 1942, to Delta and Helen (Risberg) Allen and was one of 11 children. She had five sisters and five brothers.

She married Richard Keeler on Nov. 24, 1962, at the Delavan United Methodist Church and had 54 years together. She is survived by her husband, two children and five grandchildren.

Her son Alan (Heidi) Keeler has one daughter, Amy Laidley. Her daughter Amy (Thomas) VanDan has four children, Katherine (Devin) Boss, Kelly, Samuel and Steven.

She became a member of Triune Lutheran Church in 1965 and was a member of the Darien Knitting Club for a number of years. She could be called upon to provide baby booties whenever a new member of the family was coming along for family, friends or anyone in the community. Service was an important part of her life and she gave her time to Darien Elementary School and various community events throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, and her mother- and father-in-law.

Visitation was Sunday at the Betzer Funeral Home in Delavan. An open visitation and funeral took place Monday at Triune Lutheran Church in Sharon. Committal was at Darien Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Triune Lutheran Church.
