KATHRYN BUCHER

bucher%2c-kathy      Kathryn “Kathy” M.A. Bucher, 74 of N. Lincoln St. Elkhorn, was born into eternal life Dec. 4, 2016, at her residence surrounded by family.

Kathy was born Oct. 12, 1942, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Gordon A. and Ida A. (Secraw) Culbert. Kathy graduated from St. Mary’s Nursing School of Milwaukee as a registered nurse. Kathy was married to Charles L. Murray from 1964 until 1982, and had five beautiful children. On Sept. 4, 1987, she was united in marriage to Leonard R. Bucher, who was her best friend and made her laugh every day.

Kathy was a caring nurse for over 40 years, retiring in 2007. She had a passion for art and loved to paint flowers, still-lives, portraits of her grandchildren, and lighthouses. Kathy was a leader in the Elkhorn Women’s Club, Geneva Lakes Arts Association, and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Elkhorn. She sang in the choir, and enjoyed decorating the church as part of the art and environmental committee. Most of all, she loved to laugh and be with family and friends.

She was a devoted and loving mother, granny, and sister who will be deeply missed by her five children, Brian (Shelly) Murray of Minneapolis, Beth (Gary) Welsh of Elkhorn, Shannon (Pat) Arens of Princeton, Minn., Paula (Jeff) Spende of Watertown, and Ed (Sarah) Murray of Apple Valley, Minn.; grandchildren, Liam, Sydney, Chase, Grady, Elliot, Grayson, Brigid, Lydia, Seamus, Claudia, Marin, Lucy, Piper, Logan and Tess; two sisters, Joanne (Fred) Juel and Tina (Alan) Dzienkowski both of Chippewa Falls; three brothers, Larry (Berta) Culbert of Chippewa Falls, Denny (Kathy) Culbert of Waupaca and Fran Culbert of Chippewa Falls, and by a host of other relatives and friends. Kathy was preceded in death and eternal life by her parents, Gordy and Ida; husband, Len; beautiful granddaughter, Gabby Spende; and a brother, Steve Culbert.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at Haase-Lockwood and Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn. Memorial funeral mass will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 107 W. Walworth Street Elkhorn, with the Rev. Oriol Regales officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Elkhorn followed by a celebration of Kathy’s life and Christmas luncheon at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
