HERBERT BIERSACK

Herbert “Mike” Biersack, 85, of East Troy, died Dec. 2, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Nov. 5, 1931, to Joseph and Dorothy, in Milwaukee, where he was raised and graduated from St Pius High School.

 

He married Elizabeth (Pekel) on Aug. 8, 1953, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, East Troy. Their home on Beulah Avenue is where they would raise their 10 children and celebrate holidays with the family.

Mike was a former employee of Trent Tube until 1971 and was best known as the local mailman in East Troy, working and retiring from the Postal Service.

He had a fondness for fishing, hunting and a passion for gardening providing many fruits of his labor to his mail customers. Mike might also be classified as a bar Olympic champion, partaking in football pools, dice, cards and cribbage.

Survivors include his beloved bride, Elizabeth; children, Mary Schultz, Debbie Kuhnke, Cathy (Jim) Mender, Michael, John (Cherie), Joe, Bob (Laurie) and Rebecca (Gary) Partington; sisters, Helen Tess and Marge Robran; brothers, Harold (Ruby) and Elmer (Theresa); 22 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Linda Lee and Patti Kehl, and daughter-in-law, Julie Biersack.

Memorial Mass will be at noon on Friday Dec. 16, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 1975 Beulah Ave., East Troy. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials given to the family will be used to support Mike’s daughter Debbie Kuhnke Cancer Fund.
