JAMES BAKER

de-10616-obit-baker      James Baker, 83, of Delavan, passed away Sept. 23, 2016, at the farm where he lived for 57 years.

He was born March 19, 1933, in Mount Pleasant in Racine County to Delray and Alberta (Anderson) Baker.

He married Jean Pearce at Brick Baptist Church in Walworth on June 14, 1952. He enjoyed moose hunting in Canada with his wife, Jean, for more than 40 successful years, deer hunting at their cabin near Siren and was a proud dairy farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; four children, Carl Baker, Sharon (Todd) Wrzesinski, Pat McNeeley, and Carol (David) Ainger; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Michael, Avery and Alvin; his parents; and two sisters, Betty (Frank) Haban and Audrey (Elmer) Klemme.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Toynton’s Walworth Funeral Home, 328 Kenosha St., Walworth, and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of service at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Delavan, 212 S. Main St., Delavan, officiated by the Rev. Betsy Perkins. Burial will follow at Brick Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Delavan.
