Frederick George Frye, 81, died Aug. 15, 2016.
He was born in Richland Center. To Fred, family was everything, and though he played many roles in his life none were more important or fulfilling to him than the following: He was the son of Marvin and Ione Frye; he was the father of Julia Bonardi, of California, John Frye, of California, and Jennifer Keefe, of Wisconsin; and he was the grandfather of Ryan Arestegui, of California, Alexander Arestegui, of California, and Isabelle Keefe, of Wisconsin, and great-grandfather of Jonas Arestegui, of California.
In each of these roles he was loving, proud and always grateful. And, in turn, he taught his children and their children to be the same. Fred proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a sergeant from 1954 to 1957 and enjoyed a 40-plus year career in management. He was a man who loved nature, science, genealogy, music and, above all, his family.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Willow Valley Cemetery in Richland Center. Visitation will be at Steinke Funeral Home and Cremation Services from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. For online obituary and guest registry, go to www.steinkefuneralhomeinc.com.
