Gregory S. Key, 64, of Elkhorn, formerly of East Troy, died June 23, 2016, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born Jan. 13, 1952, in Elkhorn, to the late Robert W. and Suzanne (Ketchum) Key.

He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison short course in agriculture and was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, East Troy.

Greg was always active in staying up to date on all sporting events. Specifically, he loved watching the Green Bay Packers and was an avid Wisconsin Badger fan.

Survivors include his son, Garrett Key of Milwaukee; Garrett’s mother, Nancy Key, East Troy; stepchildren, Ericha Johnson, Milton, and Jeremy Swendrowski, East Troy; sisters, Luanne Jean (Wayne) Erikson, Woodinville, Wash., Loretta Sue (Ken) Meinel, Elkhorn, and Roberta Mae (Marty) Zess, Genoa City; niece and nephews, Tyler, Chelsea and Bryant; and by a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life and visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on July 8, at St. James United Methodist Church, 2945 Main St., East Troy.

As the 1000th kidney transplant recipient at Froedtert Hospital of Milwaukee in 1985 and on dialysis for 20 years, Greg’s parting wish was to ask that any memorials or donations to be made in his name to: National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin, 10909 W. Greenfield Ave. #201, West Allis, WI 53214.
