Robert E. Dornfeld, 79, of East Troy, died June 4, 2016, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 8, 1937, in Watertown, to the late Oscar and Irene (nee Turke) Dornfeld.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He married Betty Lou Eddy on June 7, 1960, and together they celebrated 56 years together.
He worked for Schneider Transport as a truck driver for many years. He loved to play cards, especially sheepshead and euchre and also loved playing his cherry machines. Most of all he cherished the time he spent with his family.
Survivors include his wife; children, Theresa (Charles) Heyer, Waukesha and Todd (Paula), Elkhorn; grandchildren, Jessica (Jacob) Bolton, Jennifer (boyfriend D.J.) Heyer, Staff Sgt. Charles Heyer, Erika Heyer, Allison (Patrick) Fladten and Kaitlyn Dornfeld; great-grandchildren, Lilly and Brielle; sisters-in-law, Jane Dornfeld and Donna Dornfeld; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his brothers, David and Lee.
A celebration of his life will be held privately by the family. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
