Sandra (Punky) Ellegard Mattison, of Delavan, died Feb. 5, 2016.
She was born in Springfield, Ill., and a graduate of the University of Illinois. She raised her two loving children Rebecca (Michael) D’Amato and Mark (Lisa) Ellegard with her first husband Jack Ellegard in the Milwaukee area. After his passing, she found a wonderful, devoted husband in Phil Mattison to whom she was married for 22 years. She and Phil lived on Delavan Lake where she welcomed his daughters, Wendy (Kevin) Luttrell, Jana (Tedd) Cain and Julie (David) Navin, into her life.
She was an avid gardener and a lover of the arts. She was a longtime member of the Milwaukee Art Museum Garden Club and Delavan Lake Garden Club. She loved to entertain and enjoyed life on the lake. She was a tremendous role model to her grandchildren Jack, Liliana and Nicolas D’Amato and Madeleine, Ava and Mimi Ellegard as well as Jessica and Ian Luttrell, Mattison and Connor Cain and Josh and Kyle Navin. She found great joy in life and that joy will be missed by all who knew her.
A memorial celebration will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday in the Geneva Club room at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Milwaukee Art Museum would be appreciated.
