ROGER H. PROUT

Roger H. Prout, 78, a lifelong resident of the East Troy area, died unexpectedly at his home on Oct. 12, 2015. He was born May 30, 1937, to the late Harry and Melva (Whitmore) Prout.

After graduating from East Troy High School, Roger enlisted in the Air Force. There he became a U.S. Air Force military police officer. He worked at Trent Tube before becoming an East Troy police officer and then became a State Patrol trooper serving the State of Wisconsin for many years.

Upon retiring from the State Patrol, Roger was a safety director in the trucking industry. After retiring, he was a school bus driver for the East Troy School District.

He is also a retired member of the East Troy Fire and Rescue Department.

He married Nancy A. Alexander on Nov. 3, 1956. Together they raised three children, Lynda, Milwaukee, Douglas (Judi), Carrollton, Ga., and Vickie Esch, rural East Troy.

He was a proud and much loved grandpa to Elizabeth (Mike) Sibley, Zachary and Noah Prout all, of Carrollton, Ga.; and Morgan Esch of rural East Troy.

He is also survived by a brother-in- law Walt Enright; sisters-in-law, Grace Anton and Audry Stahl; dear family member Randy Esch; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends.

He was further preceded in death by his sister Mary Enright.

According to his family, the greatest joys of Roger’s life were his family, golfing, woodworking, model trains, the Wisconsin Badgers, and his beloved Green Bay Packers.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct 21, at Legacy Funeral Services, 2974 Main St., East Troy. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Green Bay Packer fan wear is appropriate attire.
