RUTH H. STEPENSKE

ruth stepenske    Ruth H. Stepenske, of Lake Geneva, formerly of Fontana, passed away July 31, 2015, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.

Ruth was born Oct. 25, 1922, in Chicago to Nicholas and Helen (Mayer) Vanderkloot.

Ruth worked many years as a legal secretary. She enjoyed her many condo friends and loved her bookkeeping duties as a member of the condo association board. Ruth’s favorite things were doing her crossword puzzles, golfing and square dancing with Art, and wintering in Arizona.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Susan (Michael) Magic, Marilyn (Jack) Wittry, and Barbara (Steve Spitzer) Alexander; grandchildren, Doug (Leesa) and Scott (Jenny) Magic, Michael (Jill), Matthew (Audrey) and Peter Wittry, and Christine (Jeff) Van Dyke; great grandchildren, Jackie and Connor Wittry and Oliver Magic and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Stepenske; whom she married Aug. 25, 1945, in Chicago, and her sister, Betty (John) Stanish.

Visitation will take place Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Toynton’s Walworth Funeral Home, 328 Kenosha St., Walworth, and Wednesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 137 Dewey Ave., Fontana, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.

Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memory Garden in Lake Geneva.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, Lakeland Medical Center, W3985 County Road NN, Elkhorn, WI 53121.
