KATHLEEN MITCHELL

Kathleen Mitchell, 73, of East Troy, died in her son’s arms on Aug. 2, 2015. She was born Dec. 27, 1941, to the late John and Frances Ellen Bast in Fond du Lac.

She married the late John L. Mitchell, in Minocqua, on Aug. 18, 1965.

She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and then again from UW-Whitewater with her master’s degree in bilingual reading. She taught English as second language and reading at various schools in Walworth County.

She loved hosting numerous exchange students from across the world. She was a volunteer teacher at the Walworth County Huber Dorm, and also for the Walworth County Literacy Council.

She was a member of St Peter’s Catholic Church, East Troy, and she was very active in scouting for many years.

Survivors include her son Kenneth J.; daughters, Michelle (David) Goggins and Angela (Michael) Benfield; grandchildren, Mathew, Lexi, Gabby, Drew, John, Jordan and Beth; brother David; sisters, Marion and Jane; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was further preceded in death by her brother, Dick.

Mass of Christian burial will be at noon on Friday Aug. 7, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 1975 Beulah Ave., East Troy. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service all at the church.

Legacy Funeral Services, East Troy, is assisting the family.
