Joseph Haigh Key, 87, of East Troy, died May 21, 2015, at Maplewood Care Center at Village of Manor Park, West Allis. He was born on Jan. 25, 1928, to Ray and Florence (Haigh) Key in Burlington.

He was a lifelong resident of East Troy.

He married Maud Lou Colby on Oct. 26, 1957.

He served his country from 1950 until 1952 in the U.S. Army as a meteorologist, immediately joining the American Legion following his service, where he served as commander for two years. He graduated with a degree in agriculture from Madison in 1953. He then took over as a third generation owner of Keyland Stock Farm, a Century Farm, where he worked until 2013.

In 1959 he joined the Mason’s; being named Worshipful Master three times. He had a profound love for flying, fishing and motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Ruth Anne (Bob) Miller; sister, Marion (Boyd) Henry; grandchildren, David Joseph, Kevin Michael, Tera Lynne (nee Miller) (Nick) Theroux; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Blake Theroux; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son Raymond David, his father Ray and his mother.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, at St. James Methodist Church, 2945 Main St, East Troy. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. A procession to Evergreen Cemetery will follow the services with a gathering back at church for a luncheon and further fellowship.
