MARION B. BOOKS

Marion B. Books, 75, died Jan. 15, 2015.

She was born on November 24, 1939 to the late John and Blanche Wiench, of Independence. Marion was a 1957 graduate of Independence High School. On September 5, 1960, she married Harley Peterson at St. Peter and Paul Independence Church. He preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1977.

Marion married Stanley Books in 1989. He preceded her in death in February of 2000. Marion was employed as a circuit board technician at Generac, Minco, and at Bench Mark Electronics in Winona, Minn. Marion was an avid reader and lover of wildlife and her two rag doll cats. One of her greatest passions was her children and grandchildren. Her great grandson was born a week before Marion’s death.

Marion is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shari Havlik (Mark); grandchildren, Winter Brown (Charles); great grandson, (Charles Shark Edward) and grandson Mark Havlik all of Green Bay; son, Harley Peterson; daughter-in-law (Kathy); grandchildren, Harley and Claire Peterson all of La Crosse; sisters, Ruth (Dan) Swendrowski, Janet Andre and many nieces and nephews.

A family gathering is planned in Independence, WI, this spring to celebrate and remember Marion’s life.
