VICTOR H. PEARSON

Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather and brother Victor H. Pearson departed the earthly world with family by his side on Dec. 19, 2014, at Beloit Memorial Hospital under the care of Agrace Hospice.

Victor was born on Oct. 8, 1932, in Beloit to Walter and Maud Pearson. Vic graduated from Clinton Schools and served the country in the Army from 1951 to 1953. He married Beverley Mason in 1953. They were divorced in 1975, but remained good friends.

Vic raised crops and livestock on the family farm in the Sharon and Clinton area for 41 years. Vic was the latest in a long line of family farmers. Forty acres of his farm was originally purchased from the U.S. government in 1847 by his great-great grandfather. Always proud of his and his land’s Norwegian heritage, he gave that original 40 acres to his family, ensuring a fifth generation’s ownership, pride and love for the land. Vic loved farming and often spoke of cherished memories of peaceful spring mornings spent walking the pasture inspecting the cows and their newborns.

After retirement, he moved in to Clinton and continued to enjoy visiting with friends from both Sharon and Clinton over a good cup of coffee at the local cafe. Vic valued family, hard work and his relationship with God. Vic will be greatly missed by his family who will always remember his love for a good debate and his love for the Packers, of which he was a shareholder.

Vic is survived by children Kenneth (Nancy) Pearson, Scott (Yvette) Pearson, Carmen (Dave) Ward, all of Janesville; Randal (Kathy) Pearson, of Clinton; Terry (Julia) Pearson, of Beloit; and Cristina (Kent) Richards, of Milwaukee.

He was blessed with 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild who will forever cherish the memories with him. Vic is also survived by his sister, Iolyn Beers; sisters-in-law Ann Pearson and Holly Mason; and many nieces and nephews.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Vernon and Harry; sister June Crist; and friend and companion Connie Wallin.

A celebration of life for Victor will be held at Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church in Poplar Grove, Ill., at 11 a.m. Jan. 10. Memorials can be made to Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church or The Smile Train, New York, N.Y.
