BETTY FIDLER

Betty Fidler, 90, of East Troy, died Nov. 18, 2014. She was born May 27, 1924, to William and Hilda (nee Schroeder) Meyer in Shawano.

She attended high school in Shawano and went on to become a registered nurse through the former Deaconess Hospital in Milwaukee.

In 1947 she married her late husband Alan (2007) in Cecil. She followed Alan to California and Kansas City while he was in the service and residency.

She lived in Milwaukee and West Allis, for many years and moved to East Troy in 1977.

She was a member of St James United Methodist Church in East Troy and was involved in United Methodist Women, the church choir and Meals on Wheels. She was very active in the church with Alan for many years.

She loved to knit, cross stitch, read and take care of her family. She also loved the Brewers and would listen or watch as much as she could. She even went to three games this past summer.

Survivors include her children, Susan (Barry) Watson, East Troy, Jahn (Kathy), East Troy, and Paul, Walworth; grandchildren, Amy (Shawn) Kesler, Jenny (Horace) Lo, Kristin (Greg) Janssen, Andy (Erin) Shafer, Chris (Carrie) Fidler, Jason (Calyn) Fidler, Maya (Michaell) Bakalars and Darwin Fidler; great-grandchildren, Abby, Brianna, Jessie, Taylor, Molly, Kate, Chase, Mattox, Lukas, Mason, Averie and Jonah; sister, Jo Ann Miller, San Bernardino, Calif., and other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, at St. James United Methodist Church, 2945 Main St., East Troy.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Lakeland Animal Shelter in her name because she loved animals and always had a pet.

Legacy Funeral Services, East Troy, is serving the family.
