DONNA L.HURD

 

Donna Lee Hurd, 75 of Hustisford died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Angel’s Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc. She was born on Oct. 30, 1938, in Elkhorn, the daughter of Herbert and Minnie (nee Burmaster) Schiller. In 1956, she married Robert E. Hurd, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1975. She married Dennis Roeber on Sept. 24, 1999 in Waukesha.

She loved to garden, growing vegetables and flowers, and was a fabulous cook. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and was an avid Democrat. She was a fun-loving person and had a great sense of humor. Her love for animals extended to always having a dog to care for and provide unconditional companionship. Her favorite color was blue, and she surrounded herself with this color whenever possible.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dennis Roeber, of Hustisford; her loving children Robert E. (Amy) Hurd, Jr., of Alexandria, Va., Terri Lynn Hurd Jamieson, of Waukesha, and Jonathan (Francine) Hurd, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; step-children, Richard (Kathy) Roeber, of Maumee, Ohio, Lori (Gary) Doll, of Hartford, Allen (Julie) Roeber, of Huntsville, Ala., Pamela (Brian) Hess, of Danville, Ala., Daniel (Lynn Perrenoud) Roeber, of Fox Lake, Diane Schaefer, of Mayville, and Marcy Roeber, of Hartford; her brother Robert (Edith) Schiller, of Camp Douglas; her sister Nancy (Neil) Flood, of Delavan; her precious, loving grandchildren Natalie and Andrew Hurd, Christopher (Jamie Zeeb) Jamieson, Colin (Kenzi Slotty) Jamieson; step-grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Roeber, Alex, Austin, and Erik Doll, Heath and Brett Roeber, Shayna and Easton Hess, Courtney and Kayla Schaefer, Zach Roberts and Madison Roeber; two great grandchildren Mackenzie Zwieg and Corbin Slotty Jamieson; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and her dog Baxter.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, June 14, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home in Hartford, 226 S. Main St. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and volunteers at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, The Rehabilitative Hospital of Wisconsin, and Angel’s Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission or Heifer International would be appreciated. The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home of Hartford is serving the family.
