MARTHA R. SCHULTZ

Martha R. “Marti” Schultz, 66, of Black River Falls and formerly of Arcadia and Whitewater, died April 30, 2014, in the Black River Memorial Hospital. She was born in Arcadia on April 16, 1948, to Harry J. and Stella E. (Schock) Schultz.

She was raised in Arcadia and graduated from high school in 1967. She received her a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and library science from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She received her master’s degree from National-Louis University in Illinois in 2000.

She taught school for 34 years at Lakeview Elementary and Lincoln Elementary schools, both in Whitewater.

In November of 2011, she moved to Black River Falls and resided at the Pine View Care Center.

Her hobbies and special interests included traveling, bowling, playing golf and playing cards with her bridge club.

Survivors include her sister, Delone (John) Hoagenson, Black River Falls, one brother-in-law, Al Walz, Bloomington, Minn., one niece, Natalie Walz, St. Louis Park, Minn., one nephew, Bradley (Mindy) Walz, Eagan, Minn., a special cousin, Marilyn Bishop, other cousins, and her dear teaching associates.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Mary Jane Walz.

Memorial funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 5, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Black River Falls. Services will be conducted by Rev. Emmanuel Famiyeh. Burial will be at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Arcadia. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Memorials may be given to the charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
