Brian L. Mahoney, 69, of Sharon, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn. He was born Oct. 26, 1944, at Elkhorn, to the late John and Veronica (Friemoth) Mahoney.
He married Diane Miles on March 3, 1973, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burlington.
He was employed as a foreman at the Chrysler Corporation in Belvidere, Ill., retiring in 2000 after 33 1/2 years.
He served his community, first as a member of the Lyons Fire Department and later a member of the Sharon Fire Department where he was past assistant fire chief. He was also involved in the Sharon Drift Skipper Snowmobile Club and the WALCO Camping Club.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; daughter, Kelley J. (Craig) McKenzie, Milwaukee; son, Daniel J. (girlfriend Samantha Beierle), Walworth; granddaughters, Charlize and Cianna McKenzie; brothers, Michael (Karen), Hazel Green, and Gerald, St. Peter’s, Mo.; and his father’s wife Elna Mahoney, Burlington.
Services for will be 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 4, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, 125 Pearl St., Sharon, with the Rev. Tom McKenna, officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Toynton Funeral Home, 112 Baldwin St., Sharon.
