JOYCE I. BECKER

Joyce Irene (Finney) Becker, 87, of Palmyra, died March 20, 2014. She was born on July 19, 1926, in North Prairie.

She graduated from Waukesha High School and received her teaching degree from Whitewater Teacher’s College.

She married William Becker on June 24, 1950.

She was an elementary school teacher for The Palmyra-Eagle School District for more than 30 years.

She was an active member of the Palmyra United Methodist Church, the Jefferson County Retired Teachers Association and the Palmyra Women’s Club.

She served on the Powers Memorial Public Library Board and was an avid supporter of the Palmyra-Eagle Community Band.

She was a lifelong Packer and Brewer fan and enjoyed reading, bowling, crossword puzzles and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Wendy (Bill) Buege and Robert (Darlene); grandchildren, Eric (Kari) Buege, Jennifer (Aaron) Brzycki and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Noah, Cole, and Brooklyn; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006, sister Ramona Kaufman, and her brother Grant Finney.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, at Haase Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home 320 W. Main St., Palmyra, and Thursday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to noon, with service to follow at the Palmyra United Methodist Church 122 N. 5th St. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Palmyra.
