JOHN “JACK” PATRICK MCKAY

John “Jack” Patrick McKay, 82, of Delavan, died Feb. 16, 2014, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was born March 12, 1931, in Ironwood, Mich., to Belmont McKay and Victoria Deitz. He married Dora L. Cartwright Jan. 15, 1955, in Portsmouth, Va.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Mich. He worked for General Electric as an engineer and with Arnold Engineering Corp. for more than 23 years. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dora, of Delavan; two sons, Michael McKay, of Anchorage, Alaska, and Charles McKay, of Lake Geneva; two daughters, the Rev. Michele (Gary) Sisk, of Darien, and Teresa McKay-Severt, of Milton; three brothers, Ray (Lee) McKay, of Florida, Jim McKay, of St. Paul, Minn., Mike (Eve) McKay, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Victoria Diego, of New Mexico; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew Catholic Church with the Rev. James Scheurman officiating. Burial with full military rites will follow in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Betzer Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow burial services at Harvest Point Church in Delavan.
