RICHARD GENE MORSE

Richard Gene Morse, 79, of Delavan, died at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, Feb. 12, 2014, after a short illness. Richard was born July 21, 1934, in Sterling, Ill., the son of Roy and Harriett (Dohner) Morse.

Richard worked at Sta-Rite Industries for many years as a machinist. Richard loved his cats, as well as all animals. He enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and Bucks. He could be found at the Delavan Post office, Del–Mart his brother, Steve, owned and operated or at McDonalds working out the world’s problems with his coffee buddies. Richard is survived by his children, Corinne Moore, of Lake Geneva, Melody Morse, of Mesa, Ariz., and Michelle (Kevin) Fish, of Janesville; two grandchildren, Kristin and Lauren; five brothers, Thomas Morse, of Belvidere, Ill., David (Sheila) Morse, of Ala., James (Bonnie) Morse, of Joplin, Mo., Dennis Morse, of Kentucky, and Steve (Loree) Morse, of Elkhorn.

He was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Betzer Funeral Home on Feb. 17, 2014 followed by a reception at the Delavan American Legion Hall across the street from Betzer Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to VNA Hospice or Lakeland Animal Shelter.
